Job Title: Permanent Histologist

 

Location: Tallahassee, FL

 

Shift: 9am to 5:30pm

 

Job Responsibilities:

• Processing, embedding, and cutting of tissue specimens
• Staining and cover-slipping of slides
• Performing special and immunohistochemical staining procedures
• Performing frozen section procedures
• Labeling, correlating, distributing, and filing slides
• Performing and documenting quality control
• Reagent maintenance and cleaning of processors and stainers
• Other laboratory duties as assigned

 

Requirements: 

 

Experience – Two years’ Histotechnician experience preferred.

 

License/Registration – Current Florida Histotechnician or Histotechnologist license or HT or HTL (ASCP) certification required upon starting a position. ASCP will qualify  you for this license.

 

Physical Requirements:

 

• Lifting, carrying, pushing up to 25 lbs
• Standing, kneeling, bending
• Repetitive motion tasks for extended periods
• Ability to discern color
• Ability to work with/around laboratory chemicals/fumes
