Molecular Laboratory Technologist (Healthcare Sciences)
Job Responsibilities
Position Title: Molecular Laboratory Technologist
Location: North of Baltimore, MD area
Shift: Monday-Friday Day, Evening OR Overnights Available
*Weekend Shifts May Be Available*
Additional responsibilities include:
- Performing general molecular lab instrument maintenance.
- Participating in proficiency testing and maintaining a record of ongoing competency.
- Performing appropriate Quality Control (QC) procedures and produce reports.
- Reporting the QC results to the Lab Director, or designee and carrying out troubleshooting and corrective actions of questionable or out-of-limit results under the direction of the Lab Director or designee.
- Documenting all corrective actions and submitting them for review by the Lab Director or designee.
- Resolving and/or escalating issues in a timely fashion.
- Participating in new method development and validations as needed.
- Documenting all work performed in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOP)s
- Calibrating instruments in accordance with SOPs, and/or troubleshooting any issues in these instruments as needed
- Maintaining proper inventory of consumables and reagents
- Reviewing LC/MS data on daily basis
- Performing bench work as needed and additional duties required to process specimens in the lab
Molecular Laboratory Technologist (Healthcare Sciences)
Job Requirements
Successful candidates for the Molecular Technologist role include:
- Bachelor of Science degree or higher in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Biotechnology, Microbiology or related discipline
- No clinical lab experience required, background in lab testing, analytical instrument and data analysis preferred
- Ability to troubleshoot instrument issues under pressure
- Strong and collaborative work ethic; must be able to work efficiently in a dynamic, fast paced environment
- Academic lab experience preferred
- Highly energetic and enthusiastic
